Do I need a partner to sign up?+

No. West Coast Swing is a social dance. Come solo or with a friend, either way works. Private lessons are one-on-one with Kevin or Nataliya.

I’ve never danced before. Is that okay?+

That’s exactly who our beginner lessons are for. We start with walking, rhythm and simple connection. No complicated footwork on day one.

Am I too old to start?+

Our students range from their early twenties into their seventies. West Coast Swing is a smooth, low-impact partner dance that rewards timing and connection over athleticism.

What should I wear?+

Comfortable clothes you can move in and shoes with a smooth sole (leather or suede) that let you pivot. If you’re not sure, come as you are and we’ll advise.

How is this different from ballroom or East Coast Swing?+

West Coast Swing is slotted (you move up and down a line rather than around the room), improvised more than choreographed, and danced to a huge range of music from blues and R&B to modern pop.

Can I take lessons online or by video?+

Yes, both. Private lessons are available over Zoom, and we also do async video reviews: send us a clip of your dancing, we send back detailed feedback. Ideal for out-of-town students, travel weeks or dancers preparing for a competition from anywhere in the world.

How far in advance should I book for my wedding?+

Ideally 6 to 8 weeks out. The full package is 4 lessons plus practice time, and you’ll want a comfortable buffer to memorize the choreography. If you’re inside that window, message us. We’ve done miracles in three weeks.

Not ready to book? Start with 5 free drills.

A short video series we send to your inbox. The same basics we teach every private student in their first two lessons.

  • 3 rhythm drills you can do without a partner
  • Basic connection & posture check
  • The most common beginner mistake and how to fix it
We’ll email the first drill within a few minutes. Unsubscribe any time.
